Well my desire arrived today (about 15 mins before I had to go to work!), luckily I was on a half day, so got home earlier than usual! First thoughts are really positive, Im loving the phone. The screen is incredble, esp when set side by side with my iPhone. Theres alot more customisability (is that even a word lol), and thats exactly what I felt was lacking with the iPhone. I know Ive barely scratched the surface, and Im looking forward to delving into the Android experience! The only negative that Ive found so far is the external speaker seems pretty poor, its terrible on speakerphone, and quite tinny when listening to music or audio. But all in all Im really impressed, so expect a few daft questions from me over the next while! TechGrin
Hi, I too just received my desire yesterday. got to say its a real piece of sex got a lot of reading up to do on this forum as there are a couple of things that I need to get clear. PS. If I try some apps or widgets and don't like them, how do I delete them ????
Grr, and I'm not getting one for a month! To delete a widget I believe you tap and hold it and drag it down to the delete button.
I think one of the best things with the Desire for me, is when the wife goes looking at all the clothing stores in the shopping malls I can just sit relax with a coffee and surf the web for free via WiFi Greaaaaaaaaat.
Glad you like it. I've found if you knock the volume 1 or 2 notches back off full volume it sounds much nicer. To remove a widget long press the icon and drag down to the remove button, which appears replacing the phone button. There's 2 ways to remove apps. You can click on market, then download and it will list the apps you have downloaded. Select the app and there will be an uninstall button. OR Press All programs arrow, Settings, Applications, Manage Applications, select the application and hit Uninstall.
