Deleting shortcuts on the application pages doesn't seem to work.

I press the shortcut icon I want to delete, hold, wait for the vibration, drag to the garbage icon, and release. When I go back to the application page the shortcut icon is still there.

This technique works perfectly on the home pages, just not on the application pages.

    What am I doing wrong?

you have to delete programs through: settings > applications > manage applications > (select desired application you want to delete) > Uninstall

some programs will not let you delete them as they are locked by t-mobile.

I'm talking about the shortcuts - Avatar to be specific. I removed the files aftger backing them up, but the shortcut won't die..

you can't get rid of the shortcut from the applications menu, the only way to get rid of the icon is to delete the program.

So even though Avatar isn't really a proggy, I can't kill the shortcut?

I understand about the apps I can't get to without rooting, but figured Avatar might be different.

I may be mistaken, but this method also copletely deletes the program off the phone, it doesn't just remove the icon.

If i'm wrong, let me know.
