So I am looking to get my first smartphone soon and I am wondering which one to get. [Not a fan of iPhones, nor did the Windows 7 phone impress me much, seemed slow] My carrier is AT&T and that can not change.

So I need some advice on which of their selection would best suit my needs.
In order of most wanted to least wanted on what I would like it to do are: Movie streaming (Netflix), Internet browsing, music playing, texting, simple games (got a DS for everything else), finally phone calls/picture taking.

I also have stupid fingers so a drop every few months is to be expected, but the case should take care of that.

I will be using the unlimited data plan if that makes a difference

A few other questions about smartphones in general: Can they open PDFs? Can I use them as personal wi-fi spots? (for connecting my DS to for example)

    Thanks for reading.

I would say (although this is debatable) the LG Optimus 2x has sightly better specs then the Moto Atrix. Take a look at that one to.

If netflix is your biggest want, and at&t is mandatory, I think you're getting an iphone

Look into getting out of AT&T. For Android's sake.

What about the Playon app coming to Android?

Netflix is a part of it. I can't wait to get the app as soon as I get my Moto Atrix.

The Motorola Atrix 4G or the HTC Inspire would be great for you, depending on how much you want to spend.
