I heard that the Droid is going to get Flash Player in early 2010. When it comes out, how will Droid users get it? Will it be a download from the market? Will it be in a firmware update? How are firmware updates performed on Android devices?

    Thanks

I would guess an update. Android 2.1 or 2.2 (if they get an update out before the end of the year).

But I'm just guessing. Ignore me if I make no sense ;)

I have a feeling the flash player will be an app that people go get out of the market. It will probably be offered as a browser plugin. I'm hoping that if this whole plugin opportunity on the browser is new that Google as fully fledged that idea much like RIM does and that it doesn't later become an opportunity for virus and malware apps to take a hold of things.

since Flash is owned and being developed for Android by Adobe Systems Incorporated, then it would have to come from them. It will probably be on the market. The last I read, test versions would be available in 2010, which means ones for us to actually use would be sometime later.

for what I have read, it will be built in to android. Apps are only allotted a certain amount of system resources which flash may need. the adobe dev website had mention of it being built it for speed.

Bumping old (but relevant) topics is fine with me. Rather see this than 3 new Flash posts in a day...Just my opinion though..

Is it real Flash? I thought it was Flash Lite that was packed in with HTC considering Flash 10.1 isn't even OUT yet.

Last I read the Inc will have Froyo around October or so. At least you have Flash lite for now though, eh?
