    trying to download the Linux version of flash..
    which version should i install

    1. tar.gz
    2. .rpm
    3.YUM
    4. deb for ubuntu 8.04

    from what I gather, that won't do you any good. That flash player isn't set up to run on a mobile. Adobe is working on one that will, though. Check their website or google "Adobe Flash for Mobile".

    You cant install flash on the phone yet ... Adobe has not released a version for the G1 yet ... it is thought it might be before the end of this year ..

    Not being funny but the original poster hasn't asked about Flash for a mobile and I guess that the fact this is posted in The Lounge - Computers & IT section then they are looking for advice on installing Flash for a Desktop Linux Installation?
