I want to root my phone. Once I manually updated my D1 to stock 2.2 I wanted more. So I decided to start researching how to root my phone. Apparently I have to flash SPRecovery first before I do anything? Can I flash SPRecovery for FRG01B? I noticed on the file I downloaded, it had the ESE81 in the name.

His name is OMJ :p (Although with all the help he provides here OMG is a worthy moniker too!)

And be sure to ask questions and don't freak out when you flash the SPrecovery on your phone and upon rebooting into the OS, you have no signal and no battery - the phone thinks the battery is dead, but it is not, and your signal will be restored after you flash the 2.2 DeOdexed file from Peter Alfonso's site.

It worked out great for the day I used it.

I then flashed Smoked Glass (full ROM) over that and am now using that instead.

About to try my hand at changing the notification text color to my favorite baby blue like I did way back when....
