Yeah so i bought a pristine Droid incredible the other day for like 20 bucks and I was wondering if I could take it to a boost mobile store and have them flash it to VM. Anyone have any experience with that and is it even possible since VM doesn't have a physical store?

I'm not sure. You would have to ask someone who works at boost because I don't know how that works with them.

Yea, legally no, boost mobile will not flash it if you take it to there store. But it is illegaly possible.

A lot of shops will do it, but they're expensive because it requires sacrificing a working boost phone.

I don't know if a VZ phone works on sprint's network though, it's usually sprint to boost flashing.

Look at pageplus, it's a MVNO for VZ, you should be able to use that phone w/o any ESN changes.

Here i seen this website where they can flash a droid incredible along with a couple of other verizon phones along with sprint phones that can be flashed to boostmobile. i did this one time but with a website call sprint2boost something like that. and i was able to get them to flash my touch pro 2 to boostmobile mind u this was about 4 years ago but it was done with everything working but i don't know about this website try at you own risk.

  8. boost can flash it but ONLY if u plan to use it on boost, and only right before you activate it in store.

also, the data wont work, you get calling and texting only. plus wifi.

    different radios/frequencies.

however if the specific phone does use the right frequencies u can get data. it varies from phone to phone.

Yeah guys, just wanted to point-out and remind everyone that its pretty-much only carriers that are legally allowed to flash phones from one to another (the laws here in the states are apparently structured this way).

Some carriers will allow you to switch a phone, but you really have to have the target carrier's permission to have your phone become part of their network.

If you don't have their permission, then you shouldn't do it and it certainly shouldn't be discussed here at AF.

    Thanks!

thanks for the heads up. I dont think anyone here is talking about that though. At least I hope not :) I was just merely asking if it was possible and I have been promptly informed that it is not.

Edit: sorry I just noticed that post about the website that supposedly flashes phones. My bad.

    Nah, you're good, dg61981 :).

We just want to try to keep things from escalating where folks start to point others toward flashing sites, etc.

I did see and follow the link to the site that was posted above--I don't know if that's legal or not, he does post the following:

which is good / nice (and hopefully accurate), but we've seen the same kind of stuff on other sites that are clearly skirting or outright breaking the law.

We'd rather you check with your carriers and see if they'll let you...if so, great, if not...then be careful.

So, we try to play it safe and make sure that there's a big "caveat emptor" (let the buyer beware) heads-up given to our members so that they (and we) are protected as best we can.

    Cheers and thanks!
