Any chance of this working on an unactivated phone? I'd presume that the cell radio needs to be turned on. Tried nextradio on it yesterday, but that didn't work. If it requires rooting to get it to work, I'd be cool with that.

So far, phone's working really well (minus cell phone service).

The sprint version doesn't have the hardware to do it. You can use many apps to hear live radio stations. I listen to some of the Chicago stations (which is where I'm from) with Tune-In radio.

Yeah, thanks. I also love tune in radio. I have a LG G Stylo that's my main driver, and that has a FM radio chip. As far as local stations, I use tune in at home to listen to several college\public stations in the NYC area that have weak signal over analog FM, like WFUV and WSIA.
