Mine works great. It is dependent on the quality of the headset. Some are better antennas than others.

My Zune is the same way. If my earphone jack isnt seated all the way, it doesn't pick up all of the local stations.

Mine sucks. But never intended to use the radio anyways. I've uploaded more than 12 GB of music on mine. :D

I've only used it in the Gym with the local FM broadcasts for the TVs...worked great there with the earbuds that RS gave away at launch. Don't care that much though as the FM radio was gravy to me.

Mine sounds great using my moderately aged SkullCandy Titans. Sounds better than on my car stereo reception wise, hardly any static or mudding out when bass hits.

I am using some that came with my daughter's sansa mp3 player.

They seat really good in the jack of the phone, so I am sure it is not the connection between jack and plug.

Maybe just the quality of the headphones. I can only pick up one station good. When I scan for stations, it finds nothing. I have to manually go to the station that I can pick up.

Kinda sucks because the stations that I like locally are not available on a online radio and other apps that find internet radio staion's broadcasts. They do have streaming too, just to avoid that comment....:)
