Put this .apk in the root of your SD card.
Download OI File manager or Astro from the market.
Point your file manager to the email.apk on your sd card and install apk.

    No lag whatsoever with notifications.
You can sync your contacts with this as well..
    Cheers

    Lol... Sorry
    Not a virus.
It is a "stock" email application.
You can set-up exchange and or any number of IMAP, or POP3 accounts.
And they will be in a "combined" inbox.
I put that in quotes because it is not like what those of you who come from a BB will expect.
Feel free to PM me any questions.
I have it installed and it is working flawlessly

Thanks for replying pman219 appology's if I was a bit hasty with my post.
I have a few PUBLIC questions if I may please?
    1-Does it work on Desire?
2-How much different is it from the current "stock" app?
    3-Who wrote it?
    4-stock or combined in quotes?

if it fixes my peak/off peak times issue then you will be thanked a lot.

    No worries.
I can't confirm that it will work on the desire, but it has worked for me on both the Incredible as well as the X and it will work on the Nexus One.

    EDIT:

Here they talk about it in the Desire forums, but I can't comment on your off peak issues sorry.

It's not a virus, and if you have dropbox installed, you don't need a file manager either. Just drop it in your dropbox on your computer, open dropbox on your droid and click the file, it'll install.

Outlook gives it clean bill of health if anyone is still worried.

Curious, as I already had exchange mail setup on my droid, what is this going to do, will it be a double account?

**edit - lol, yeah I now have two corporate email accounts on the phone. I like the pre-installed email client better, hopefully an update will fix the notification problem.

It does instantly notify though... then a few seconds later it notifies again!

Its very fast and responsive and mail is instant, also looks and feels better.

But it dont have peak or off peak times. So will sync all day on PUSH.

    But promising.

Sorry for doubting and thinking it was a virus.
