Forcing silent phone issue?

I was just wondering if there is a way to force the silent phone issue. I've had it once, I'm on the v3 leak, and I'd like to get a refurbished Eris. Last time I had it I just rebooted it and it worked but I was wondering if there was a way to force it?

Hopefully there is and someone can tell you.

But my guess is it's no different than trying to replicate a problem on your car when you take it to the dealer for a warranty fix...

there was a post recently with someone who was able to replicate it consistently on their phone. someone else tried to same steps and was not able to reproduce it. seems like different things on different phones trigger it.
