I just got the new 1.6 Market Element in my Cyanogen 4.1.10 and probably other features i haven't tried ...

Oh and the google search thing is good too ...

Loving my rooted Cyanogen ROM builds ....

My Stock G1 has some good things to look forward too

Presumably will HTC have to produce a HTC sense implementation of 1.6 before anyone will cook up a custom rom for the Hero?

Technically no ... Just up to the wizard that is doing HERO ROMS...

The G1 has our wonderous Cyanogen .... i dont follow the Hero builds ... even though some of its better parts have been incorporated into the Cyanogen Builds ...
