    (I need support!)
    Hi
Last night I made a new password and double checked it if it unlocked my s6 edge and it did. However this morning the same password I put in is not recognised. Believe me, I’ve tried multiple times, times a gazillion it doesn’t unlock :(
So I decided to give in and factory reset it (I’d lose everything but I would be able to use my phone again)
Imagine my surprise when after I pressed the power button it told me “Enter password to power off”
    Can someone please help!
    Jay

That's Factory Reset Protection, was introduced starting in Android Lollipop and is an anti-theft security feature. You'll need to know the email and password that was used on the phone.

If you don't remember your Google password you can reset it after logging in (you may have to wait 1-2 days before the new password works):
