Question, I've seen Sony Ericsson Android phones with the four-corner shortcuts/launcher which, I think is pretty awesome. Is there a way to get that on the Xperia Ray? Thanks!

I remember seeing something like this in either the Applications Announcements forum or apps. Let me dig a little and see if I can find it.

i have had this problem so telling-- please excuse me-- and i dont intend to belittle anyone -- i have lot of respect for members who spare time and write their valuable comments here

so the problem i am referring to is that when we talk of an app we are not telling whether its tried and tested on xperia Ray... a very exclusive phone which will hang or create issues if u load an app which it doesnt like fully :)

this is an attempt to make this forum - the Ray part of the forum- a place where whatever we recommend becomes a standard which others will come to respect and gain knowledge.

thanks to all those who will chip in and make this true!!

Thank you for finding that but it's not exactly what I'm looking for.

Found an APK for the launcher here (With Corners): [App] Tweaked Xperia Home Launcher (Dock or Corners) ported to MDPI - v4.1, 23/03/12 - xda-developers

Unfortunately, it requires rooting and flashing (something I don't want to risk just now). Even then, it seems the APK is designed for MDPI displays (320x480) so there's no telling if it will even work on the Xperia Ray which is HDPI (480x854).

That does appear to require root, however I will have a look around for you as I am sure I have seen this type of launcher before that did not require root.

Thank you. Since you seem to work for Sony, how about including the four corner launcher on all your phones? At least as an option for HDPI devices? It's really innovative and easy to use. By far, it's my favorite home/launcher for Android.
