framework-res.apk reboots phone.. please help

hi guys. im new to this forum and would like some help on how to change the status bar on my milestone(droid).. my phone is rooted and i have metamorph installed. When i apply a theme to other apks from metamorph everything is fine but when i try to apply it to the framework-res.apk my phone reboots and nothing is changed i also tried to use AndoidCommander to pull the framework-res.apk manually, change the images and put it back in but it doesn;t change any help pls? Thanks
