How noticeable is it? And just so we're on the same page, you're referring to xvids of the normal 624x352 HDTV-rip variety? (not anything higher res than that)

Yes standard xvids. When I watch fox animated tv shows it is annoying enuf to make me want to spend the time to convert it

Darn.. was really hoping my re-encode days were soon behind me..

Someone suggested earlier that it may be related to speed issues from playing off the micro-SD card. Have you tried playing a file from the Incredible's internal flash-ROM rather than the micro-SD to see if it made any difference?

did not try playing it off internal flash rom
but playing mp4s from that same SD card were fine
