Picked mine up today. It's garish, but Function > Style (unless you're talking about my dancing).

    AC Charging too. :)

Took mine back on Tuesday and they are not giving out new ones atm due to an investigation in why the others are exploding. They take your number and say they will text when a new one is available.

Are they investigating all of them, or just the EM06 (or whatever the code was)?

Seems weird they wouldn't give you a replacement if it was just one batch that were ropey.

Just investigating the E-106 models, I suppose they dont want to hand out more if they find a common fault with all of them.

I got a message today saying ALL power bars are being recalled, regardless of model number.

£20 to spend in the EE store by way of compensation though.

    Just had the text myself.

I did contact them after the initial warning saying others had the issue the original ones were recalled for.

Hopefully they haven't been damaging our devices

I'd presume no, but then I wouldn't have thought they'd be exploding either!

Have you used yours a lot?

We have. 2 and use every day.

I'd already raised them getting hot when charging a device with EE and both had been replaced before EE staff said it was normal.

Then they recalled a batch, but ours weren't the same batch. Recontacted EE who said they were fine. Now this.

Both however give interference whistles when charging one of our devices if you use the supplied short cable, but not using a standard length cable.

That suggests to me something shorting out, which hopefully hasn't damaged any devices out there otherwise this could get expensive for them.

And I was only looking at the USB chargers in Lidl yesterday wondering if I should get one!

    Wow. :(

I can't say I'd used mine much so if it was getting hot, I hadn't noticed.

With the £20 voucher, I'm probably going to pick up this: https://accessories.ee.co.uk/product/PWRB6WHKT/

2 outputs, and more than double the capacity of the EE power bar so it should do both me and the Mrs.

Maybe it's something you want to look at too?

Edit - I just re read the bit about the high powered whistling, we'd another member (unless it was you and my memory is pish!) who had issues with that and presumed it was their Nexus 5, not the power bar.

As well as overheating there's a risk of damage to devices you charge with it.

If you're happy with that risk then that's fine.
