Can you wifi tether on a Froyo 2.2 non rooted evo? Please help since my dsl in the office has been disconnected by my partner and I myself will be moving out in 3 months, hence need a temporary wifi option.

Yes, with PDANet or EasyTether you can USB tether. Both are in the Market. The free versions have limited access (you cannot view secured (https) web sites). Paid verisons (1-time fee app fee) have full access, I think.
