Normally don't report on apps, but this one I have to because it is awesome.

In addition to my "S" I also have a Motorola Photon and been looking at WiFi tethering, but disappointed at the cost from Sprint.

In doing my research I found this app that allows free WiFi Tethering.

I immediately downloaded the app and it works easily and perfectly:)

    Hi davect01,

Upon further review, it seems I jumped the gun on this one. My apologies. I have re-opened the thread for you :)

    Cheers,

So does the S not have tethering functionality by default? Thought it was stock part of android - all my HTC phones have had it.

    Wifi tethering = yes/easy.
Bluetooth tethering = i couldn't do it with the new phone. So... i signed up for the verizon wifi/hotspot on the cell phone. Other than the tablet, i also got to hooked up the laptop and kid's tablet on it. Also occasionally hook-up some co-worker's laptops/gadgets on the hotspot when out traveling.

Wifi tethering is built in, but some carriers limit your access unless you pay a fee.

It is the cell phone that I use for the tethering, not the Sony.
