Fresh 2.0d is too SLOW

You can see from my sig what I had came from.

I had Fresh with Gumbo, Set CPU and Cachemate. It was still not as fluid or quick as some other devices, but it was tolerable.

Now, I put 2.0d on here and its waaaay sloooower.

I have Set CPU and Cachemate running, but it doesn't make a difference.

Any suggestions, or is it just not ready???

FWIW I will jump to that new 4G Android phone Sprint is getting or whatever network picks up the iPhone other than ATT. Whichever comes first is where I'm going.

Try Damage Control v2.05 im running that 2.1 ROM and it is great. There is a little keyboard lag but other than that the ROM runs fast.

Get rid of setCPU, it doesn't work with Fresh2.0d as it uses a different memory killer, and it is quite likely what is causing some of your lag.

Flipz benchmarked all the 2.1 ROM's, and they all run literally the same exact speed. There should be the same, if not less lag than the 1.5 ROM's

I'll try removing SetCPU...but remember, there is a lot of after the fact tweaks I had installed on the 1.5 Fresh ROM; all of which made it faster than the 'stock' fresh rom...so a benchmark may not mean much...

I wasn't comparing them to the 1.5 ROM's, I was just saying all the 2.1 ROM's are very very close in speed.

The extra "tweaks" you're looking for will come with time, especially once the official 2.1 comes out. I think there's a way to change the memory manager settings on Fresh 2.0d, and it should be in the thread somewhere. I'm not using it, and haven't tried it, but I looked at it for a little while and saw something about changing those settings

Did you wipe before installing? I installed without wiping because i forgot, and it ran, but was glitchy, and then I remembered and wiped and reinstalled and it works very well now.

it'll get faster once he removes setcpu.. Fresh 2.0d has autokiller installed.. use it instead.. plus you can download spare parts from the market to speed up animations if wanted.

Anything is better that the stock rom..:p

I got rid of SetCPU...seems to be quicker. It still does not feel as speedy as the original Fresh ROM I had with that custom Kernel.

It is quick for me however yes the keyboard is slightly slower, I am going to flash back to the stock one to see if that helps.

I have been having a different problem. My phone is not syncing automatically like it used to. This is causing my emails to not come in when there supposed to. Anybody else with this problem.

Nope, things work just great on mine.

    PRL issue maybe?

I was having this issue for the first day. Now (2 days later) it seems to be syncing just fine. I'm really loving the 2.0d ROM but today I missed an appointment because the reminder for the calendar didn't pop up. Not good.

Part of being on the cutting edge, I suppose. What I don't understand is why people with responsible jobs who need to make phone calls or receive an alarm would even flash an early-leak ROM. Imagine being on a closing sales call and your audio drops out because, well, just because.

I don't blame the devs, who are after all mostly just college kids being very clever. There seems to be several severe bugs in the leak itself. True, they don't affect most users, but even if only a few loses audio or alarm, I think it is deal-breaker.

    Agreed.

Setcpu is part of the problem. It should not be used with this ROM, since the ROM already has the HTC power manager built into the kernel. Setcpu only slows down the phone since it conflicts with the HTC power manager. Then, use the Autokiller app included with the ROM (there's an updated version in the market) and use the aggressive setting. This will tweak Android's internal taskiller and will dramatically speed up the phone. With these settings, I find this ROM to be the fastest one out there. Hope this helps!

I messed with autokiller today and my battery life literally doubled! this rom is really impressive. I am very happy with it . I feel bad for those who dont have the same experience...
