Root Frk76?

    i've been poking around, not really savvy on this stuff. FRK76 doesn't seem to be breaking tethering (pdanet) for anyone, does it? it seems to just be a security update and not a GB update? thanks. sorry for being new. but thanks to you guys i just figured out how to root my phone. :)

    thanks. yeah, i used super one click to root my 2.2.2; i think i have the confidence to up the phone to 2.2.3 and try again.

    i guess what worried me was that i heard GB phones were taking you to a provisioning page if you tried to tether, and that was what i was trying to avoid.

    FRK - F - FroYo.

    FroYo ROMs = 2.2.X

    GB ROMs = 2.3.X

    After applying the FRK update your phone Android version number is 2.2.3.

    So, you're still on FroYo.

    If I may add, the newest (Froyo and late in the game) 2.2.3/FRK76 update for the A855 doesn't boost performance at all, it's just another update to close a tiny security hole in the browser (which also _might_ have made some of the One Click rooters not work). All OTA updates will break root.
