From O2 to Vectone

I recently switched from, O2 to vectone, but it seems that i have an "R" over the signal bar. That stands for roaming data right?
When I check into settings that is switched off. Then why does it still stays here? Am I going to be charged for it ? Or is it a phone problem ? (I am using HTC Incredible 2)
