How many are upgrading from the droid eris to the Tb and if you have already switched then how much difference is there?

Oh Boy....you will be floored at how much of an upgrade it is.

I came from a rooted eris with a gingerbread 2.3 ROM on it and that was awesome...but the TB...

    the TB is simply AMAZING.

Make the switch. We actually get flash!

I think there have been very few going from the Eris to TBolt, but I know of quite a few who have/will be following my indented path of Eris-> Incredible-> ThunderBolt (TBolt for me on Apr. 8th :D)

Do it! I upgraded from a rooted eris and the TB is basically an eris on steroids. EVERYTHING is way faster! The screen is a huge upgrade. The new sense is way more customizable. All of the newer "processor heavy"apps work beautifully. Battery life is equal to, if not better (despite some peoples claims). Everything just works the way it should, fast and smooth. The device is already rooted and new custom ROMs are on their way which means an even faster and smoother experience. If you're on the fence, do it! You won't regret it!

this is how i feel about the TB coming from a rooted OG droid with cm7. nothing really ran smoothly and it constantly closed apps due to lack of ram. i've always loved android but now realize that i've never experienced it like it was meant to until the TB. However the battery could be better. i have no problems with it but just knowing that other phones have bigger batteries makes me just want one as well

I upgraded from a rooted 2.3GB Eris, and the TB is just a bad ass phone. It's so fast and responsive and the screen is just amazing compared to the Eris, well, to anything I've seen. And the build quality is what I'm impressed with, nothing else I've held felt as solid as the Eris, until I picked up the TB, then I had to have one.

Oh, wow. From an Eris to the T-Bolt you will have so many upgrades it'll make your head spin! I came from the Incredible and I'm more than impressed.

I just bought a TB on ebay today, so I'll be giving my Inc to my mom soon. I originally had an Eris too, which my mom is currently using. Poor mom, always getting my leftover phones! haha... That's ok, I'm going to use my upgrade in July for her to get the new iphone 5 when that comes out.

I can't wait to be part of the TB club! :)

Ha! That's nothing. I upgraded from the original Droid 1. I went from almost useless to wonderful.
The Droid was OK when it was new, but it became so slow to browse the web or load maps that I didn't bother most of the time.

Software wise and manufacturer support, you are right. Hardware wise you are dead wrong, and the TB is a sidegrade.

It's an impressive sidegrade though, and with the new 4G toggle and blockbuster patch, the battery life has improved for a lot of users. This phone would possibly be on my short list if it had HDMI. I have a hard time considering HTC after the Eris though. HTC/Verizon's support (or lack thereof) for the Eris is very similar to what many are suffering on the Fascinate today.

I'm getting ready to make the jump from a rooted Eris w/Froyo 2.2.1(KaosFroyo V39) to the Thunderbolt. I have been waiting for this phone for a while and the time is almost here for me to upgrade.

It's a shame the Thunderbolt doesn't use the same battery as the Eris & Dinc. since I have the 1750mah for my Eris. Oh well A bigger battery will come out soon enough.

I have a Inc. and we just picked up a TB for my wife. Not a huge upgrade from the Inc. The large screen is nice, but I prefer the lighter phone and the way the Inc. fits in the hand. I hope that the Inc. gets the updated Sense that the TB has. We don't have any friends w/ front facing cameras to try out the video calling, but that will be a nice plus to have. The camera is slightly better in low light than the Inc's. camera. The 32GB SD is just sick! There isn't 4G in Salt Lake yet, (though the store reps. claimed there is) It is expected for later this year. All in all, it was the right move. The wife was looking at a 2 yr. contract and there wasn't any sense in getting anything less than the TB. A nice phone, especially if you like HTC.
