Froyo 2.2, can't get app sharing to work

I can't seem to get app sharing to work. My wife and I tried it out tonight. She sent me an app which is free and I get the message and the hyperlink. Once I click on the link I get sent to the market and it says link does not exist. The hyperlink really doesn't make sense. I sent one to her phone and the same. This is the only problem I have discovered after doing the update.
