Now that the 2.2 platform is available for the SDK, what are the chances of implementing some of its features in custom ROMs? Is it possible that we could see some 2.2 goodness even before an official update?:p

You will see it incorporated into ROMS within a week, if not by next weekend if the Source code has been released.

Well I'm ready! Love to have Flash 10.1...well I say that, but I doubt I'd actually utilize its functionality all that much. Oh well...still can't wait!

According to Engadget Cyanogen has already stated that there are some Froyo changes already up on the ASOP... This was yesterday, so I would assume that as soon as all the changes are up on ASOP (probably today or by the end of the week) we should be seeing a new version of CM fairly soon...

Edit: Cyanogen has the source, it was released to Developers today!!!!

They annonced that Flash WILL be available for download from the market which means we can go ahead and get those 2.2 based ROMs and download flash later whenever it is released.

This is what I get when I try to download the Flash 10.1 beta...booo

Hopefully that will change soon :)

The SDK and source are different. As far as I can tell 2.2 source has had some tidbits put into AOSP but there hasnt been a full 2.2 release yet.

I can't wait for the 2.2 ROMs to come out. I plan on starting 4 or 5 battery threads to see if I can get Insane to go....insane! Haha! :D

Am I the only one not exited about Flash? Hulu seems to be the only real thing of interest and it's not supported due to legal issues, and even then I wouldn't really watch a full show on my Droid. It's more of a "look what I can do" sort of thing.

BUT 2.2 looks to be much faster...

I tend to agree for the most part. I am hoping that it is an option to enable and disable.

There is a LOT more to be done with flash than just Hulu:rolleyes:

There are TONs of informative sites that use interactive flash animations, flash menus, etc. Many of these sites are useless without flash.

Then there are the flash games sites..:p

    Then the flash cartoon sites..

    Need I go on??

CM 5.0.7 has been in process for weeks, so I would expect the next update will pick up more of 2.2 goodness...I think expecting anything in a week is unrealistic, it might be that long until 5.0.7 drops...

Kongregate. And the dude who runs it already opened the mobile site, so it is just waiting for my Flash Player to connect to it.

I will find you. I am in IL, you are a drive away, and with my Droid I will get there quickly. I just better bring my charger :p

How do you know this? If you DO know this for sure, fine. Otherwise I think there will be many threads next week saying "Where are the 2.2 ROMs?" and it creates false hope and rumors.

On another note, I can't wait to play Tofu Hunter from AdultSwim.com on my Droid.

Don't worry...I'll put some info in the thread about how to conserve battery life while driving in the car! ;) Sorry...I just read 2.2 and I started laughing at what the threads are going to say...

"With JIT, my phone is faster but I can't make it through a full day on a single charge...help!" and..."Will watching flash based videos all day long drain my battery?" or (and I love these)..."Should I be at 80% battery at 11am with only light texting, and streaming Pandora? It wasn't this way on 2.1" :D

    Hahaha, so figgin true.
I am going to wait until it is actually released, then I am going to tally and post all of the speculation threads.
Anyone care to take wagers? :)

At least this thread seems pretty legit.
    Then come the temp threads:
"My Droid goes up to 140F when streaming Hulu for 4 hours - what is wrong?"

For all of you Cyanogen fans... simmer down. lol. I'd love to see a new 2.2 CM up just as much of the rest of you, but the sad fact of the matter is just because Cyanogen releases it doesn't mean we'll get it. Koush still hasn't finished any of the 5.0.7 builds yet. He seems to be MIA.
  22. OMJ

    OMJ Bazinga

Cyanogen hasnt released 5.0.7 yet either. 5.0.7 is in test for every device. Test0 and test1 for the droid are quite stable though. The biggest hurdle the droid is going to have in regards to 2.2 is the kernel. If the 2.6.32 or 2.6.33 kernel is required we could be in for a wait since current Ti drivers dont work with those kernels.

Wow, I feel like I just got bitchslapped there. I better not let Inssane know I live and work in Chicago or he's going to come get me for saying that there will be 2.2 features coming in ROM's soon.
  24. OMJ

    OMJ Bazinga

I should restate that a little. Those kernels could be used now we just wouldnt have wifi or oc. That is my understanding at least.

I just joined twitter yesterday (held out on Facebook...gave in...held out on Twitter...gave in again), so my old ass (relatively speaking :D) is new to this but I think when someone re-tweets something...I assume that they agree with the original tweet...right?

Cyanogen and several other people re-tweeted this:

Seriously people...back off and let it come. I know everyone hates to not be in control but try and keep this in mind...If you can't do something yourself or pay someone enough to get them to do it for you (in your desired time frame), then just wait patiently :)
