Root (Froyo 2.2) Turning on Wifi Hotspot breaks my 3G

I am new to the rooting/ROM thing, so please bear with me.

I installed Froyo 2.2 today and it seems to be working just fine. However, if I turn on the WiFi hotspot it disables my 3G/internet connection and no amount of rebooting will fix it.

Am I missing something?
