You have to go to Menu > Settings> About Phone to see it, in case you didn't know. It's the build number.

I haven't installed it yet, LOL. Where does the update.zip hide? I want to grab it before I restart. -droidosis-

LOL - I have gotten the official one twice already. The ESE81 to FRG01B update as well as the ESD20 through ESE81 ==> FRG01B update.

I am on a ROM right now that does not get updates, so I am making a backup and then flashing back to an older ROM and seeing if I get an update - and if I do, if it is the same or not.

Using root and terminal emulator / root explorer / adb shell + root:

    Look in /Cache

In system update it says "Froyo 2.2 Update" downloaded and verified, 45.2MB Have not restarted and installed - hope it's the new one. Otherwise, false alarm .. -droidosis-
  13. johnlgalt

    johnlgalt Antidisestablishmentarian

Umm, that is the exact same size as the original FRG01B Update that required you to be on ESE81.

The leaked FRG22 was not the same size, it was off by 2-3 MB - hence I think you're finally getting the original update notification lol...

I may be wrong, and I hope so for your sake that you are....

ah, I think it's the old one :( looking at the logs with logcat, it's going for voles-FRG01B-from-ESE81.zip Sorry, I got excited. Should I install this one? -droidosis-
  15. johnlgalt

    johnlgalt Antidisestablishmentarian

Only if you want to be non-rooted on FroYo lol.

BTW, I just got one too - my hone screen was locked so I didn't know I had gotten it.

    Checking file hashes now.

    wha, wait, wtf?

This is the same file I got on Saturday!!!!
  17. johnlgalt

    johnlgalt Antidisestablishmentarian

And it deleted the previous two I had received previously!!!!

(Heh - good thing I already had copies of them elsewhere)

Guess this proves Verizon never pulled the update like was said.

My guess is they are going to roll this one out..then when droid2 hits give the patched one so you can grab Flash the easy way? -droidosis-

Wrong. The update pushed out to me and a few others Saturday is a different one than was pushed out to users last week. This one updates All Eclairs to FroYo - EDS20 all the way through ESE81.

It's the one I posted about in a thread, that I got Pete to help me confirm that it could do this for all versions of Eclair - and that he later posted about in his blog.

    See my post here: http://androidforums.com/all-things...d-smoked-glass-got-new-notifcation-today.html

    And Pete's blog here: http://www.peteralfonso.com/2010/08/more-confusion-about-frg01b-droid-ota.html

    It's the same exact file

Adobe will probably just make Flash available for the Droid the easy way through the market when it's out of beta, rumored to be the 18th.
  22. johnlgalt

    johnlgalt Antidisestablishmentarian

Yes, it is supposed to be in the Market when it goes live.

It damn well better have the ability to be installed to the SDCard, as well, or I am gonna be one angry m'fer....

Yeah, it's pretty big. I'd think that with them being so closely involved in 2.2 they'd do it but I wouldn't be surprised if they didn't.

wow weird, it got deleted on me also, I restarted the phone, no update -?- Says my system is "up to date" with 2.1 :( -droidosis-

Hmmm... I have the "assisted" OTA of FRG01B... Im wondering if I need to go back to 2.1 to get back on the update cycle....

I took it back to 2.0.1 last week and it never would update back up to 2.1....
