If we are not in Europe and HTC does not make the OTA upgrade available will we be able to download the file and apply it ourselves - phones SIM free and unbranded but Not Rooted??

I just can't be assured that if the OTA is pushed to the mobile phone and pops up an alert reminding you that the software is ready to upgrade?

What's the difference between the OTA and going into "setting" to upgrade the system?

The only difference is how patient you are. Setting - check for upgrades is OTA, just you are forcing your Desire to ask if it is ready.

I'm sure most of us are polling the HTC server - we are all impatient.
