I updated my samsung captivate and rooted it. I did it with odin. I backed up my contacts and now kies wont recognize my phone and I cant put my contacts back on my phone. Does anyone know how I can get my contacts back onto my phone? I've been searching for about 3 hours now. I have them backed up on my PC as a SPB file. Any help would be greatly appreciated! I am new to the forums but i've been reading stuff on here for months now. Figured it was time to join =) Thanks guys.

The below post on XDA Developers has an attachment that is supposedly able to open an SPB backup and then export it to CSV. At that point you could import the contacts into Google and it should sync back down to your phone.

Mind you I haven't tried it myself but I had it bookmarked for a friend that did something similar and I haven't heard from him that it didn't work and no news is good news right? ;)

So join. It's free. If you're going to get into hacking your phone, you're going to need to be a member at XDA and hang out there often. That is the #1 place for software and tech support.
