Froyo on unlocked T-Mobile Desire

Hello everyone,

I bought a Desire through T-Mobile and have 'unlocked' it today.

I was hoping by doing this I would be able to use the 'check for updates' function and get FROYO.

My plan has failed - is there anyway I can get FROYO on my Desire without having to wait for T-Mobile?

It's still T Mobile branded even though you've unlocked it so you'll have to wait for T Mobile to get their act together (to get the update automatically). The update direct from HTC was only for network unbranded phones.

To double check, see if it has the T Mobile splash screen on start up and if it does it's definitely a branded phone.

I should also say that there are ways of debranding the phone but I've not tried it myself. If you do a forum search you should find some instructions, or someone may be along shortly to point you in the right direction.
