Froyo update query

Hi

I tried to download the update to froyo last night and got a message to say I needed more free memory. I deleted some apps to make room, but now when I check for updates it says there aren't any available. My phone is definitely running 2.1 and is unlocked. Anyone know why this is happening and how I can get the upgrade.

I had the same problem Sunday trying to update my Desire. In the end I backed it all up to spare card, did a factory reset on the phone.... Warning.... it erases everything you have put on your phone and returns the phone to its original factory settings. Disabled the backup option in settings. Downloaded it again and it is working just fine. Make sure that your battery is fully charged and not charging when you do it. Also use Wi-Fi and not data to download I did 2 data downloads because I was not near Wi-Fi both attempts failed saying corrupt data. 2.2 now on my phone installed Flash 10.1 can now use BBC iplayer. Connects to the web faster than my wife’s 4g iphone.

exactly the same problem m facing since the last 2 days. sometimes, on manual update, it shows up the 90mb froyo file for download. but have not been able to complete the download process in the last 2days. the download stops sometime during the process saying there isnt sufficent memory or stuff. but i have about 60mb in phone memory and 2.5gb free in the memory card. have tried turning off and reinserting the memory card couple times already. no use. m trying another episode of download as i type this one, around 25% now. the download speed is too slow. but i heard someone in someother thread saying download for him took just 2mts. m confused.

Are you downloading over wifi or not?

finally. the ordeal is over. was able to download froyo and install without any further problems. it seems good. will check it in the coming days more. the phone keypad in sms seems better changed now. easier now to use than earlier. more sudden transitions entering inside diff options. 720p. wifi hotspot. are few changes i noticed so far.
hoped thr were few diff themes and colours also
