So trying to root my phone. I have downloaded z4 to my desktop and dragged the file into my F drive (droid) why is nothing happening?

    What do I do next

    1. Download the Forums for Android™ app!

On your phone, go into the Files app, find the z4root.apk, and install it. Then it should be in your app drawer. Open it up and hit root.
You should read some more before you go any further though. Knowledge is power around here, and you can never know too much.

also make sure you have installation of non market apps checked, and enable usb debugging, it always helps

What he said ^^^. If you have astro file manager (free in the market) then find Z4root in it and open it. It should then give you a choice of browse file or open app manager. Choose app manager then press install and the Z4root ap will be in your app drawer.
