Help Frustrated v. charging

So this may be the last straw with this cheap little phone. First 2 months ago my wife's ascend stopped charging. So I have been doing the battery swap thing in mine to keep them both charged. Well now as of yesterday mine will no longer charge. Doesnt matter what cable I use the charge port is not functional. Now is there a resolution to this or is it just a take back and warranty issue? I'm annoyed that this is the best Cricket has to offer atm. I'm nervous of grabbing a flashed phone with all this talk of Cricket doing away with allowing them on the network somehow. Just not sure where to go from here. All i know is i have 2 dead phones.

sounds like you have a loose port, i would say if your on any custom roms, i suggest restore it back to factory if you can even get them on and take it back to cricket for a replacement...

if they are paid apps they are still on your account and you can re download them, and if they are just random free apps you can always download them again...also make sure the plug socket you using is working, also wiggle the usb charge and see if it starts charging. https://market.android.com/

I pay for the insurance on them through cricket, I remember them telling me to replace the phone would be $80. If so i'm gonna firmly place these bricks in their ears.

$80 wth...thats only if they are lost or stolen right? the extra $4 a month should be for the replacement and should only cost $10, but dont know how cricket works tho...

Well i'm gonna take both in tomorrow. See what can be done. This phone has served its purpose but I truly do hate it. To slow and laggy, but for the money as a entry level phone, as i said it has served its purpose.

Well I went to the the local corporate store today with my phones. They basically said yea we'll give ya new ones....but it will be a $21 processing and swap out fee per phone. So I saw why the F am I paying insurance on it then. She responds with, "oh thats only if its lost or stolen." Considering there was a uniformed officer at the door, I had to leave before i made a scene in the building. I'm so damn aggravated right now.

Thats why after the first month of paying for the insurance I cancelled it. The insurance is a joke, I think someone was saying it was around an $80 deductible even if you did lose the phone. That is about the price of a new one.

yep 80 is right, but the f up part of it, if you dont know what the $4 a month is really for they not going to tell you, and $80 bucks for a use one, i would just buy a new one for $19 more...

I had a girlfriend who had insurance on a cricket phone. That insurance only paid up to $50 for it, but because it was a camera phone, they wanted me to pay 40 dollars more, less than $10, than the phone cost new.

So i went back today with the idea of having to pay $21 per phone to rectify my issue. I bring up that I have read that this is a common issue yet again, this time this woman asks her manager about it. He agrees and says yes this is a known issue with these phones the replacements are free of charge. So i'm happy i got 2 new phones but aggravated that i waited almost week for them when it wasn't needed. Also for the record manager told me there will be no 2.2 update for these phones due to the new Huawei phones coming in june. He wouldn't go more into it.

glad you got new phones free of charge, and yes thats one reason the price had drop on these phones, cause there wasnt going to be an update for it, this phone was obsolete when they was made, but was intented for entry level phone for newbie's, but will all the work that the devs have done had made newbie's into pro's and the phone also, and getting people ready for the next phone that comes out.
