Frustrated with my AT&T Uverse

    Here is my rant here about AT&T and their idiocy. Over the past month I have been experiencing numerous problems with my internet.

    About 5PM my connection slows down to a halt - I pay for 16 mb/s but instead I cannot get past 5 on the speedtest.net tester. The reason I notice it is coz the bandwidth slows down so much that a youtube video takes 15 minutes to load half way on a wired laptop on 360p. The wireless interface the internet is next to non existent. This happens all through the weekend so basically turning my xbox to try to play anything online or youtube or videos that are not on my pc is probably a bad idea. (I dont usually play games but sometimes Batman just calls too loudly)

    Today I got fed up with it and called them and told them that if they don't find the problem that according to them does not exist I am going to call comcast and really try them out. Funny enough they scheduled me for the same day - so the tech came at like 5 PM when my speed was already starting to slow down.

    He pulled out his Iphone connected to the wireless and did the exact same thing - speedtest.net app and measured the speed 5 mb/s. Than he did something on the Ipad (was not really looking what he was doing I was just like OMG ipad (omg fail)). Than he turned to me and basically said - that I am not crazy and that there is a real problem. He went outside for the next 40 minutes and determined that the errors that are slowing down my connection are because of their own line outside of my house.

    Seriously if they don't get it back up and running to normal I will be forced to choke some chickens and switch to the big evil Comcast which I hate from the bottom of my heart!

    Anyone ever had a problem like that? Anyone ever dealt with AT&T for months and the techs coming over and changing the tips of coax cable and telling you the connection isn't good? Any of you ever heard that you are crazy and don't know anything about their service over the phone when you are telling them that their service is not working?

    I feel your pain brother. I have been in your shoes with both At&T and comcast. I had long distance blocked on my house phone a few years ago ( had cell didn't need it) for about 6 months At&T sent me bills I sent them back I got on the phone with them and every time oh yes sir we got it cleared up your good to go thank you for choosing At&T next month same thing after the second month I just quit calling them and after the fifth month I paid for postage and sent them all thier bills back with a letter That I had canceled long distance you had agreed that it was cancelled and yet the bills continue. Would you please see to it that these get shoved so far up head corporates (colorful) that they can never have the possibility of seeing the sun shine again. Amazingly I was never bothered again.

    Well the real silliness is that I can only chose Comcast or AT&T and I know how bad Comcast really is - mainly because one of my friends use to work there and told me to never sell my soul to the devil!

    The stupid issue is that it seems that their shit is really wrong. I hope they fixed it but it really does not look like they did - I am going to try it out tonight and if it is the same thing I am just going to call them and really try one last time because funny enough seriously sick of their stupidity.


    I hope Varizon or Wide Open West get in my area soon coz I really do not want to join Comcast!

    Well No luck the tech came out and said there is nothing wrong and went home. Same problem and tomorrow I believe is going to be their final ultimatum before I pull up my sleeves and get her done!
