I'm a simple girl. All I wanna do is get my laptop to recognize this $%@^$ Droid so I can download music, pic, and video. Am I missing something??? <<Miss my Blackberry so much I wanna cry>

go to home screen on phone
plug in USB cable to PC and phone.
A chooser should come up, choose disc drive.

Now, if you accidentally chose always charge or something silly you'll have to switch it manually.

Slide down status bar --> select the USB option (probably on charge only) ---> Choose Disk Drive.

plug it into your laptop. drag down the notification area and change from charging to disk drive.
then your evo should show up as another drive in my computer like f drive.
click on the new drive. create a new folder called media. create a subfolder called music. click and drag music into that folder and you will see the music in the stock music player!
create 2 other subfolders under media called pics and videos!

Really? I thought the camera created a folder called "DCIM?" Also, She could put the music folder on the root section of the card and the stock media player will still recognize it. Not trying to confuse her anymore than she is, just thought I'd point that out.

yes, the camera does create the DCIM > 100media folder. thats where all camera pics/vids will be stored.

if she is looking to have a folder to change her backgrounds, i recommend created a different folder from the DCIM folder.

yes, you can put the music in the root of the sdcard, but it makes it messy. i come from windows 3.1 days and always have created directories. it keeps things clean.
