I want to root my Galaxy Nexus but I've spent quite a bit of time setting it up and have things just I want them. I read a couple of things saying that before rooting backup options are limited. Can anyone tell me if a full backup is possible and how I might accomplish it? Many thanks

the only method i know of is syncing your apps with Google so it restores them automatically after. you CAN backup after a root and rooting is not what can brick devices, flashing ROMs are. rooting is the easiest part really. and if it fails you just end up with a stock unrooted phone.

Thanks for the info. I guess I'll just hold off for a little while. My desire to play around with rooting doesn't trump my satisfaction with the way things are right now.

all the apps can be backed up before rooting if you use "wugs root toolkit.

The Nexus includes a built in backup feature, that doesn't require root... just requires the use of ADB, but Wug's root toolkit makes it very easy.
