My grandparents were all born in Italy.

My parents spoke Italian, but only when they wanted to use the 'secret code' and say things they didn't want the children to understand.

My dad would shout out an expletive in Italian every once in a great while, and those were the first words I learned in Italian, even when I didn't know what they meant.

I got in trouble a couple of times for repeating those.

So "excuse my Italian"

Where is that price posted?
I'd be "spun" with that price.

On another note (same subject) I grew up with the Peter Paul Company just a few minutes away on a bicycle. Stopped in to buy "waist chocolate" (what they considered low quality) for a mere $0.35 pr lb. 2 or 3 times a week.
