I've heard that the G1 doesn't have a standard 3.5mm headphone jack. Recently I read that theres a new revision of the G1 that has a headphone jack but I havn't found anything on that on google. Does anyone know if the G1 has a headphone jack?

    No, it doesn't, you use a usb-to-3.5mm cable/splitter thing.

I've not heard that, do you have a source?

It does come with an adapter.

There's actually two types of the adapters, the ones that were originally given out didn't have a 3.5mm jack (actually headphones,) - see here. The new ones (as far as I know, I bought mine early and got the one above) are these.

Can anyone with the newer adapter confirm that's correct?

From what I understand Taiwan has switched to using USB Mini ports instead of 3.5 jacks on cell phones. HTC is from Taiwan and uses the USB Mini port on all of it's phones.

It does have the advantage of being able to communicate with the phone (use a remote control) and having one less hole on the phone itself.

I got the older version with the headphones (no adaptor:() so i just chopped up the headphones, stole the connector and soldered a 3.5mm headphone jack to it.

Works great! if anyones interested i can post a quick guide (took me awhile to track down the wire colour guides for the EMU, but i got it)

Mine didnt come with an adapter...i feel that it might be hit and miss as some people have reported receiving one and some have said they didn't.

If I remember correctly, the first wave of preorders didn't have an adapter. The amount of initial **concern** over a $2 piece of equipment prompted HTC/T-Mobile/Android Jesus to start shipping units with an adapter.:D

Hm, the adapter that it comes with seems a little bit much to have in your pocket along with the G1. I think if I got it I would cut the cord then splice it back together so its smaller.
