So I've had my G2 for about 2 weeks and it's definitely a keeper. I have one question for phone junkies... About how long after a phone comes out do specialty accessories come out?

Specifically, I'd like to have a way to quickly cradle it in the car and office where it could still be useable.

Seeing the microUSB is on the side 3/4 of the way up looks like a tough problem to address.

My big fear is it will be like the G1 that this phone replaced. Few things came out in the way of cradle solutions for that phone.

Thanks!

I would like to see some kind of mount, or cradle with charge and audio out. I would love to see one that could mount in my line of sight in the car (not on windshield) - I drove tonight with navigation app and google maps in sat mode using birds eye view and felt like I was flying an airplane! Next I need to see if it will work in street view, but I would guess none of these would work on Edge...

I use the Arkon Slim-Grip with my G2 for the car: G2 Car Mount | Arkon Windshield and Dashboard Mount for T-Mobile HTC G2 | HTC Desire Z

It works really well, the feet are adjustable so the ports and mic aren't blocked.

...Yeah, my suspension is not that great, so I get some minor vibration if I'm on the freeway going over 60. The suction is solid though, it's not coming off. The holder part is pretty solid as well, the grip is strong enough to hold the phone at any angle, even if there is some slight vibration.

I've been using the Slim-Grip for a couple weeks, and even with the small vibration on the freeway, I haven't had a problem; I quite like it actually.

$17.95 -- seems like a good value.

Holds the phone very securely, the suction cup seems very robust.

It's spring-loaded, and the spring is pretty strong, so inserting the phone or removing it requires a lot of force, which will usually pull the suction cup off the glass if you don't hold the cradle with your other hand.

So, perfect for medium to long trips, but might be a little tedious for just bouncing around town for errands if you want to take your phone with you.

I have used it several times, and it is not as bad as I expected to remove and install the phone while the mount is in place. The Akron is very stable, and very adjustable. It is a good value and well made.

Looks good and I want to purchase, is anyone else getting an "untrusted connection" warning when trying to buy it? Maybe it's fine but I don't get a warm fuzzy feeling putting in my CC info on an unsecure site.
