G2 home screen reverts back to G1

I have had a look around this site but can't seem to find anyone else having the same problem as me.

I downloaded an application that changed the unlock screen to the same as the iPhone. For some reason this changed my home-screen was well as my unlock screen.

My HTC Hero had the same home screen as this:

But now it has changed back to the G1 (T-Mobile G1) and looks like this:

The long bar across the bottom with call etc has disappeared and changed to one square box. I have uninstalled the application but there is nothing to change it back. Can anyone help?

Try to go to Settings -> Applications -> Manage applications -> HTC Sense, press Clear defaults and reboot. It should ask you which homescreen you want to use, with a checkbox to set it as default

Hi, I don't have HTC Sense on the manage application list. However, I have the following:

HTC Checkin Service
HTC Flash Player
HTC Function Test Program
HTC Location Service
HTC Lock Screen
HTC Media Uploader
HTC New
HTC Search Widget
HTC Setup Wizard

Strange... I'm relatively new to android (and hero), but if the application that manage the hero's homescreen (HTC Sense) is not in your application list, something must be broken on your phone.

Is your Hero rooted ? Do you have a custom ROM on it ?
