Go to the Play Store and download *****. Since it is in the store I assume I can mention it. Get it now. It may or may not get pulled.

    It's obviously a piracy app.

Just because it's there doesn't make it OK here.

And yeah - like all other piracy apps, it's going to be pulled.

Hi friends, hope you're all well. :) Wanted to pop my head to share a bit of news for anyone interested - tickets for PAX East are going on sale today at noon!

PAX East 2014 registration opens tomorrow | Joystiq

In all honesty, I haven't been following phone news a ton lately - are we expecting to get any more flagship/major phones released for the holiday season? I think it's finally time to move up from the GNex and my family is on board with pitching in to get me a new phone, but I'm not sure which to go with. The G2 seems to be the best of the (Verizon-available) options currently, but if another is set to be released shortly, I'd like to know to do some research.

Hi Razor! Don't leave meeeeeeeeeeee. :(

Just kidding - if I could I'd upgrade too. And right now my 1st choice would be the G2 but I'm curious as to what will be out in the coming months.

Happy... well, YOU know what day it is ;)

Note 3 S-pen is so cool... I found an old motorhome for my sister-in-law. Circled it with the pen and scrapbooked it, then opened multi-window so I had both messaging and scrapbook going, and just dragged the motorhome down to the messaging. DING! And away it went to her!

If this thing gets much more useful I think I'll scream! Wait: IT WILL!

I have ONE issue with it: I bought a USB 3 charging cable for the bedroom and can't see to attach it at night. I either guess at it and poke until I hit the hole (BB, don't go there!) or get up and turn a light on. Solution is at hand!

I ordered a Tylt Vu wireless charger and an OEM Samsung wireless charging S-view cover. Both are Qi compatible, so it should all work nicely. Now to wait for the cover to come in on the boat

Anyway, I had a hectic day yesterday. Besides four intense hours of media interaction training I also attended a Department of Transportation public hearing on our interstate highway. One really good, one not so, both important.

Have a great Wednesday everyone! :)

Good morning all - happy hump day!

Starting to get chilly up here in the NJ area - high's in the 50s today.

I am absolutely loving this G2 - battery life is awesome, screen is killer, etc. Someone at work got the Note 3 and I think it may just be too big for my little hands. Not sure if I could use that as my daily driver although Han kinda makes me want that Note 10.1 for its S-Pen functionality. Would probably be an awesome note taker for work, commute and brain storming.

    @nj02vette

My code reader was delivered yesterday. I just came in from using it. I checked for any codes and there were no codes to be found/stored. I ran a test and had some things that failed but I have no idea what any of the stuff means.

I'm guessing the one is an 02 sensor, but I can't see that being what is causing my Escape to do what it is doing?

Did you know the G2 has something similar, although you have to use your finger (or a capacitive stylus). I'm sure it's overall functionality falls way short of what the Note 3 has, it's still pretty cool.

    You mean the Richnote application?

Yeah maybe I should just get a capacitive stylus to keep at my desk / commute.

Edit: Maybe not, Richnote doesn't allow you to write in it. What application are you talking about?

No idea what any of that means, lol. Seems like they aren't logging to OBD codes, but using their own format (MID? TID?). They don't even tell you what most of them mean, but put a description on the first two. You're right though, the O2 shouldn't cause the problems your seeing at all. And it's pretty obvious your O2 sensors shouldn't be putting out 58,000 volts either, should probably be mV range. Even that doesn't seem right, as per memory, I thought it was in the 200mV range. Either way, that reading makes no sense to me.

True OBD2 codes should look like the following:
OBD-II Check Engine Light Trouble Codes

Now I don't know if the year Escape you have, but do you know if it has throttle by wire, or electronic throttle control? "Most" cars still have mechanical linkage that connects the gas pedal to the throttle body. I say most, but who knows, as more and more cars have electronically controlled TBs now.

Assuming it's a new electronic control and not a mechanical linkage, and since it's still running, just not responding to your pedal's input, my guess could be a faulty throttle position sensor (monitors position of gas pedal and sends signal to TB), the throttle body actuator is bad (not moving the TB valve, but doubtful as it should throw a code in this instance), or in intermittant wire connection between them.

The throttle position sensor faulty wouldn't throw a single code, since it's would be operating within spec, just stuck. That would leave it running the engine at pretty much a fixed RPM and not responding to pedal input.

Just a guess, and I'm not a mechanic. But if it happens again, I'd pull the intake hose off the TB and manually move the blade and see if the engine RPM changes. Although usually the last thing you want to do when stranded in a McDonalds parking lot.

    QuickMemo.

Swipe up from the bottom and you'll get three choices, VoiceMate, Google, and QuickMemo. Let's you draw on current screen to take notes. So if you're in a web page, just swipe it up and take notes on the screen. Then save and share. You can also turn on a shortcut in the notification shade. You can also shut off the background if you just want to take a note on blank sheet.

For example, just did this one.
    Dinner before concert tonight.

No glitches so far. The only drawback is that handwriting on a tablet, at this point, is still not EXACTLY like physical ink and paper. But I'd say it's about 90% the same. For my purposes, it's perfect because I don't have to share my handwritten annotations with anyone else except for in-house staff, so I'm not too concerned with my handwriting being perfect (I'm pretty sloppy even on physical paper).

But all in all, this is the best tablet I've ever owned for handwriting. The S-Pen looks and feels so light and almost flimsy, but it's awesome.

I do have to admit, however, that the Apple ecosystem for PDF annotation apps (GoodNotes is the best) is still superior to anything on Android at this point. The best one I've found for Android is ezPDF Pro, and it's certainly passable, but I prefer GoodNotes.

    Sigh. Nothing is perfect.

Has anyone had a problem with their 2013 Nexus 7 showing up on their computer? I think ADB interface is causing the problem? Trying to use it an MTP but I can't find it on my computer. I've tried turning USB Debugging on and off and that doesn't work either.

Sorry Kaat, I was talking about QuickMemo built into the G2. I'm sure there's a bunch of apps in the store that do something similar as well.

T-Mobile just announced they were going to offer 200MB of data per month for free on data enabled tablets. I wonder what the catch is?

Oh oh yes that I knew about.

I guess I was more describing a Moleskine type notebook application for Android I could take notes in.
