I is scared. I'll wait. Lol.
As much troubled as I had it was easy. There are a bunch of us here that will help
This was the first phone I've unlocked. Now I just need to root because I would like to have Google Wallet.
I know you all will.
I am actually waiting for a reason. It'll be an unlock, Episode 5 night all rolled into one
Yea, Halon! You rock!
Not sure what I did?
Unlocked bootloader...deserved applause.
Hungry now. Been playing with my phone since I got up this morning with a short break to take my dog to the groomer and go to the grocery store. Forgot all about dinner. See y'all tomorrow. G'night.
I use GIMP, it is similar to photochop (well some would say it isn't), and a very powerful FREE photo editing software. Here.
There is a learning curve, but feel free to PM for any tips or shortcuts. Resizing is pretty straight forward if you've ever worked in any kind of photo editing softwarez.
Or feel free to send to me (or BB's) and I'll do it.
Feel like I am going to use this quite a bit.
My that is a big phone you have there
*wink and gun face*
My situation tonight?
root is real easy. All i did was run fastboot boot recovery-clockwork-188.8.131.52-toro.img
then boot into recovery, flash the su.zip file. boot into android, go download clockwork and install recovery. That insures you have the latest, and then go reboot to recovery and flash petes rom, or another rom to keep the recovery.
So...while rebooting my phone for only the 2nd time since I've had it, I noticed something. I have no lock symbol underneath the Google logo in the boot animation. That means I'm unlocked right? What's funny about that is...I haven't even gotten close to attempting it yet.
Hey guys. I'm posting this using the voice recognition to text. Has anyone figured out how to video chat in google plus with your galaxy message. My wife has a samsung stratosphere and I of course have the nexus. both have front facing cameras. shouldn't i only be able to do this?
Not sure that it works with the Stratosphere. I think Hangouts is an ICS only thing, could be wrong though.
so hangouts with video chat is an ics thing only?
This ain't no Facebook, we do thanks not likes here.
congratz on the milestone
Don't quote me on it, but I think that's correct. Gtalk video chats ought to work though.
Yes use Google Talk. Its more secure and better. My wife and I use it. Hangouts is for multiple parties
Has anyone else use the EQ? It is amazing to say the least. I can not believe the difference setting it properly makes. None of my other photo phones came close
have you opened the device manager found where ADB (or something along that line)is listed in it with a yellow triangle with an exclamation point, and then manually update its driver by pointing to the driver that you downloaded for Samsung devices?
That is what held me up, so that when I opened a command prompt and typed Fastboot Devices nothing showed up. manually doing the driver like that fixed the problem and unlocking became a breeze, although I have not rooted it yet.
Very comprehensive and thorough review with lots of pics and vids:

Alrighty.. unlocked the bootloader and rooted. Now the fun begins!
BTW Nova Launcher rocks. Big thanks to SolidOrange for posting it in the Galaxy Nexus forums. In addition to other nifty stuff, it removes the google search bar and lets you use that space.
Now to find a wallpaper...
