Thanks. I tried to get mama on them but she was kind of shy. She didn't go far though.

A bit slow in here tonight, so I'll share a quick story if no one minds. Not sure if any other Watering Hole denizens are fans of Taco Bell, but their newest product is called Loco Taco, which has a taco shell made from a Dorito chip. They're pretty good, but Taco Bell uses such subpar ingredients that I was convinced I could do it better myself. So I bought a bag of Doritos, ground turkey, shredded cheddar, and shredded lettuce. Browned the turkey and mixed in store brand taco seasoning, then spread most of the chips on a baking pan, covered it with the meat and cheese, and baked it about ten minutes. Took it out when the cheese was all melted, spread the lettuce on top, and voila! Doritos nachos. :) Absolutely delicious.

Hi everyone!! Well, we had an absolutely spectacular weekend. It went by way too quickly though and I miss him already.
We went to dinner for my birthday Saturday which was amazing. He survived dinner with my family and got the stamp of approval from my best friend. He was even really sweet and understanding when I was a bit weepy all morning and again at the airport today.
And he spoiled me with my presents.

And now reality will come crashing down. Not only is he back home and I'm here but I'm here with no job. I was part of a 'reduction in force' that happened on Friday. I'm not too worried though. I got a halfway decent severance package and thankfully have the support of my family and friends.

So that's been what's been going on here.:D

Funny how life pairs a special occasion immediately following bad news. Glad you had a wonderful birthday weekend BB, job loss notwithstanding.:)

Been pretty quiet here, but that's par for the course on weekends. Oh well, I got Monday out of the way, now its on to Tuesday.

So sorry to hear about the job loss. :( We're all here for you!
Morning everyone. No real good movies playing today so I think I might do a little shopping downtown. Will certainly try not too spend too much money .

Hate to hear about your job loss BB. Maybe you'll find another quickly!

I'm taking off in a couple of hours to go watch the SEC Baseball tournament! Hope everyone has a good day!

Noticing a high Android OS usage this morning. Flashed LeanKernel 3.7 last night and noticed really high Android OS, Phone Idle, and Cell Standby but flashed back to 3.6 and still noticing an abnormal Android OS usage.

Android OS is at 2% for me. I don't check it often, but it's rarely above 10-15%. What is it for you? (I'm on Liquid 1.4, Lean 3.6)

    (1) So glad to hear you had a phenomenal birthday weekend, BB! :D

    (2) SO SO sorry you were let go. Something better awaits, no doubt!
Not sure if you know about it, but IF you're interested, you can check out INDEED. It's a job aggregator site that pools employment listings from all over the place and puts them into one spot. Set your zip code, distance and even e-mail alerts.

    (3) And TODAY'S the day, everybody! It's the day Verizon says that we stock folks FINALLY get the 4.0.4 OTA rolled out! Well... my phone hasn't found an update yet, but it's early so time will tell as the day goes by.

Enough babbling... off to do my Guidely clean-up work for the day :)

Thanks for the reminder Chief, sadly, no update for me yet either. How many threads are going to have this conversation today?

    Good morning everyone!

Glad your weekend went well BB, but sorry to hear about the job loss. Keep your head up - I am sure something good will come along. Glad to hear your visit went really well too - nice presents!

Ugh its so hot at my desk and this apartment hunt sucks. Found some bad reviews of the apartment we looked at this weekend, but they recently changed management so these reviews seem to all come from the old management and it seems most are from angry tenants that had one bad thing happen to them. Not 100% sure what we are going to do but my current lease ends June 30th and these people seem to only be available on weekends, which makes things very complicated and frustrating because it technically only gives us 6 days to look for something.

I know it'll all work out, but apartment hunting is the absolute worst.

I feel your pain. I've done the moving/apartment hunting/house hunting thing 4 times in the past 8 years in 3 different cities and 2 states. It's difficult.

YAY for a fabulous birthday weekend, but really sorry about the job. I've been there - a couple of times - and I can say with almost 100% certainty that when one door closes, another one opens, and often what's behind it is even better than what was behind the closed door. It gives opportunity for change and growth, and I'm sure you will come out on the other side with an even brighter future. So keep your chin up, enjoy a little time off, and then dust yourself off and find an even better gig. :)
