    Hi Gnexers!

Hanging out here and the (not so epic) SGS3 pre-release thread. This place is much much nicer :)

So I picked up the smart watch this morning. Pretty cool so far. No radar map yet and no tweet caster support but it may be in development

If any of you guys are Kenny Rogers fans, he's scheduled to play Bonnaroo live in about 10 minutes. It's streaming at

    www.youtube.com/bonnaroo

    Starts at 4:30 Central :)

    Sadly I know. And I don't like Kenny's music.

Is there much development for it yet? I'm still waiting for my Pebble which could be several months.

There are about 60 apps for it, mainly its kind of like a portable widget. I can read text Facebook twitter weather reminders and such. I can see some potential in this thing. Sending a text message from it can be done albeit canned replies.

I meant in Google Play. Open it up and go to My Apps. Then swipe over to all apps. You WILL find Google Wallet there. Promise. Just tried it, though I am not updating personally. I don't want to give Wallet, or have it ask for, root permissions.

SO what happens if you deny it root access? Does it blow up and go on strike or something?

My Wallet is up to date: and while it does say "unsupported device", it works... and it has never asked me for root access.

Reports are that the update was asking VZW users for root access and that it was causing problems. Glad to hear nothing is blowing up on your end.

Weird. It has always shown up in All Apps for me, never in My Apps...did you sideload or Market Trick?

I really don't remember. But I think I side loaded it. So that is probably the problem.

It was a nice enough show, for someone who's been doing it for over 50 years...

Appearance by Lionel Ritchie was a nice surprise, as was our "illustrious" mayor awarding Kenny the Key to the City :)

Awe Chief, yo know that scene in Top Gun about the mom always playing the album. That was Kenny Rogers for me. Hot damn did you bring back memories. Thanks. Right now I'm thinking about "One Stormy Night."

LOL you would think that the SGS3 would be getting more love and attention in the Verizon pre-release thread than it is... for such an "epic" phone.

It's been live for 3-1/2 months now and is currently on Page 11 with 538 posts. And it's on pre-order.

By contrast, when the Nexus pre-release thread was 3-1/2 months old, our page numbers were in the 1400's and over 70,000 posts - and we still had no idea when it would be released!

So if customer excitement is an indicator of future sales, the SGS3 stands to be a big YAWN on Verizon.

EDIT: Then again, Han isn't in there... I guess that counted for about half our posts

That's cos the GS3 isn't epic. The only spec that REALLY trumps the Nexus is the 2gbs of RAM. And it is probably necessary consider the amount of "S" ware bloating up the system. I mean seriously, Samsung didn't even color the battery ICS blue! Sorry, but this is ICS with nonsense added and a clear lack of detail IMHO.

    jmar

Edit: Maybe I came off harsh. I am sure folks will love their GS3's. It has great qualities. It just isn't for me. Had a Han moment :p

How else could you install Wallet on a VZW phone without side loading? I did it that way and I don't see it listed under the brazillion of my apps in the Play Store.
