The Galaxy Note 8 features wireless charging and supports both Qi and PMA standards, making it compatible with almost any wireless charger out there.

Wireless charging is typically pretty slow at charging your device -- nowhere nearly as efficient as charging with a USB cable -- but the Galaxy Note 8 always features wireless fast charging. Using a compatible fast wireless charger (and a wall charger with a 2A output), the phone charges much more quickly.

There are plenty of fast wireless chargers on the market and most are pretty affordable. Here's a list of my top picks:

Like most smartphones these days, the Galaxy Note 8 features its own "Quick Charging" technology. Samsung calls it Adaptive Fast Charging (9V/1.67A) and although it's 100% compatible with Qualcomm Quick Charge 2.0 wall adapters, it's behaves a little differently than it does on other devices.

The main thing is you can only quick charge when the phone's screen is off. That means if you're actually using the device, charging speeds will be dramatically slower. Should you find yourself pressed for time and need to charge up as quickly as possible (in the car or in between flights) -- set the phone aside and don't use it. Or better yet, just power it down and let it do its thing.

Here's how fast the Galaxy Note 8 fully charges when left alone:

10 min – 13%
20 min – 26%
30 min – 38%
40 min – 50%
50 min – 61%
60 min – 70%
70 min – 78%
80 min – 88%
90 min – 96%
100 min – 99%
107 min – 100%

Total: 1hr 47min

It's worth noting that most Galaxy devices that feature Adaptive Fast Charging behave in the same way (the Galaxy S8, S7, and S6 for instance) so it's not necessarily anything new. While it could be seen as a shortcoming, it's probably for the best considering the troubles Samsung ran into with the Galaxy Note 7.

Should you ever need a replacement or spare charger, here are some Quick Charge 2.0 adapters I found on Amazon that are fully compatible with the Galaxy Note 8:
