Hello all. My wife and I both have a Samsung galaxy s. we are located in the U.S. Since upgrading from froyo to gingerbread using the kiesmini pc tool, my galaxy s has frozen three times. Once necessitated battery removal. I used the power button to reset twice. Two of the freezes were caused by the camera. Today, both our screens froze after using the camera. Anyone having this issue QUESTION: will rooting the phone erase the data? I'd like to be able to have super user rights to remove some of the apps I don't use or want but I don't think I need a custom ROM. I' m a bit nervous as I am a complete Linux novice and I don't want to cause myself aggravation.
