Help Galaxy S not syncing calandar

My fathers phone and my friends (both galaxy s) stopped syncing calendar items from the default google calendar app that came with the phone. If you add any new items to the calendar on the pc the items show up on the phone. I have already cleared the cach on the applications menu yet it did not fix the problem. How do I fix it?
