    Hey Everyone.

    I have the Samsung Galaxy S i9000.

I bought the phone Unlocked in New Zealand with Android 2.2 preinstalled.

The phone has been/laggy here and there, and I noticed that there are official 2.3.3 updates coming out in other parts of the world, so after a bit of research I decided to try and flash a rom via Odin.

I presumably flashed the rom in the correct procedure (downloaded the I9000ZWJV4 Rom) and got a failed flash about half-way through the process.

So, I then decided to flash back to 2.1 to avoid bricking my phone. Managed to do this successfully, but when I try to update to 2.2 or 2.3 through Samsung Kies, Kies tells me "This version of the device cannot be updated", which is clearly BS as my version is 100% definitely 2.1. I noticed that my product code for the phone ends in 3IE... Which I couldn't find anywhere on the internet. Tried changing it both in Kies regedit and on the phone itself (Changed to BRI & TGY) which did nothing. No MTP Errors on connection or anything like that.

To make matters worse, when i try the volume down + power button + home button the phone will no longer go into download mode meaning that I can't manually try and flash another rom.

Any help would be much appreciated

    Thanks

    Hi....

The firmware I9000ZWJV4 is an Asia release....i would have thought the Australia firmware would be more applicable (9000XWJVH). But you said you bought it in New Zealand...so do you live there? Or brought it back to another country?

As for the not booting in the download mode...try a factory reset but using the same 3 button method:

Volume up + home button + power button

then do a factory reset....see how that goes.

Also, I can't get ADB working. I have no idea where to type in the command to get into download mode from ADB. this is f***** ridiculous!

    It's like everytime i find a work-around for a problem to another problem i find a problem with the work-around. -_-

Where do i type in these commands?

You need to open Command Prompt on your windows machine. Click Start > Goto Accessories and click Command Prompt.

The latest Firmware for Australia is 2.3.3 XWJVH ( CSC = i9000VNZJV1 ).

    Best of luck to you.

    Ray
