Help Galaxy S2 Apps on Device Memory uses more memory than on sd_card

Hi,

I downloaded Google Earth app on my Galaxy S2. Installed on the device memory (2GB) taking up about 25MB. I moved it to SDCard (16GB) (via Settings>Applications>.....Move to SD Card), the size taken up on disk now reported as 650k, moved it back to device memory it increased back to 25MB. Same with other apps if I move them to sd_card they take up less disk space as reported in Settings>Applications>Manage Applications. whereas on the internal device memory they seem to take up a lot more disk space.

Any reasons / ideas?

When an app is moved to SD card some of its data still has to remain in the internal memory.

So if I understand this correctly, the app on internal shows up as 25MB, but when its moved to sd_card it shows up 650k, this means the other 20 MB or so is still on the internal ?

Nope, other way round. 650k is still located in internal memory; the rest has been relocated.
