Support galaxy s2 only showing numbers, not names

    My s2 is only showing contact numbers and NOT the names..I'm connected with Optus in Australia, any other Aussies having the same problem, better still does anyone have a fix?

    I'm with Virgin in Australia, which is on the Optus network. However the problem is not network related.

    Couple of questions:

    1. Do you have name information for the contacts? I mean if you go into the contact to edit it, can you see their name in there? If not, the name information has been deleted somehow.
    2. What version of Android OS are you on? Gingerbread (2.x.x) or Ice Cream Sandwich (4.x.x)? You can check in Settings -> About phone, and scroll to Android version.

    My initial recommendation is to try syncing the contacts with google. Go to Settings -> Accounts & Sync and go into your google email account. You can choose to sync contacts here.

    G'day Kie,
    I did a sync through Kies and that sorted it out, now back to normal again.
